Overview

Using portable hand-held computer scanners, physical entries are performed by scanning part number labels and entering the quantity in the location.  Laser scanning allows the user to easily read hard to reach part labels or bin locations.  The standard Epicor version of the PI process is aimed at making the physical count match the computer.  The BPI version makes the computer match the physical count.  This is accomplished by counting what is in the warehouse and matching it to the system rather than taking the tags printed by the system and attaching counts.  Data captured from the portable readers is loaded directly into the Epicor system to perform adjustments to computer on-hand balances.  Since keyboard data entry is all but eliminated with this method, counting is done with improved efficiency and accuracy.

The BPI Application Extension is fully integrated with the appropriate modules within the Epicor ERP system®.
